Wake Up, Clothe Yourself in Strength!

Updated: Apr 4, 2020

Isaiah 52: Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength!

Heeeeeeyyyyyy Girlfrannnnn!! I want to challenge you to take a glance at your to-do list or schedule for this week. When I look at my list I see graduate school courses, internship hours, praise and worship practice, classroom time spent at my main job, and a small slither of time for rest. Notice there wasn’t an intentional neglect of self but there was a huge deficiency for me to spend time by myself. This also means that my time with God was very limited and probably not very effective. I’m pointing all of this out to encourage you to spend one on one time with God.

Everything we need to walk in strength in our many positions we have to get from God. The pressures of stress and anxiety are easier when we go to God and invite him into our day to day practices. Remember being a daughter of God is a major advantage. He can move on things that we can’t, shoot he can see things we can’t, and he can change things we can’t. I mean, even the things he can change and decides not to we still have an advantage because he gives us favor and grace. See it’s never ending- the benefits package of being the King’s daughter is endless!

The Tips, The Word, The Promise, The Challenge

Tip:

This week alone I had to stop myself and set a 5-minute timer. Of course, once I started, I needed more time—I had to bring God up to speed on my concerns, celebrations, desires, and I even had to repent and ask for some forgiveness. Setting the timer helps me to break the seal and check into to intentional time with God.

The Word:

Zechariah 4:6 Then he replied, “This is the word the Lord spoke to Zerubbabel: You won’t succeed by might or by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Armies

Isaiah 52: Go and read the whole thing sis! God is calling you to wake up and walk in STRENGTH. HIS Strength!

Isaiah 58: 11 The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

The Promise:

Here a few promises that you can hold on to as we walk in our moment with God.

God promises to empower us with his love and strength when we walk with him and allow him to lead us.

God promises to order all of our steps and even when we fall while walking in these steps he won’t jump ship or walk away.

God Promises to be an active and engaged father,

Take some time to allow him to join you in your day to day walk.

Don't forget your crown today and make spending time with God a priority.
